Reliance Industries Chairman and Managing Director Mukesh Ambani revealed some key details regarding Jio 5G services in India during his keynote at India Mobile Congress 2020. He revealed that Reliance Jio will launch its 5G services in India in the second half of 2021. It will be a testimony to the government’s Atmanirbhar Bharat mission.
Ambani said, “I assure you that Jio will pioneer the 5G revolution in India in the second half of 2021. It will be powered by indigenous-developed network, hardware and technology components”. Further, he added, “I can say with utmost confidence that 5G will enable India to not only participate in the fourth industrial revolution but also to lead it”.
To bring the 5G services, Jio has been working with tech giants such as Qualcomm and Samsung. As of now, Reliance Jio has the largest number of subscribers in India. Back in July, Jio became the first telecom operator to cross the 40 crore subscribers mark.
In addition to the 5G services, Jio has been working with Google to bring affordable 4G devices, some of which are expected to launch in the first quarter of 2021. Bringing the 5G services will enable companies to launch more number of 5G enabled devices in the country.
