Samsung held its Galaxy Unpacked event today, where the company unveiled three powerful smartphones: Galaxy S21, S21+, and S21 Ultra. All of them are powered by Samsung’s latest Exynos 2100 processor and bring a new set of cameras, and the design is fully unique.
The best part is that Galaxy S21 and S21+ are €50 less than its predecessor (5G model), whereas the Ultra variant is €100 less than Galaxy S20 Ultra. This time there’s no 4G model in Galaxy S21 series as the company is more focused towards 5G connectivity. Let’s now take a deep dive into the price, specifications, and other key details about the Galaxy S21 trio.
Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra: price, specifications
As the name suggests, Galaxy S21 Ultra is the premium in the S21 series and the company’s best flagship device yet. It offers a 6.8-inch Dynamic curved AMOLED display with 1440p+ resolution and Corning’s new Gorilla Glass Victus protection. The device can run at a 120Hz refresh rate while operating at 1440p+ resolution. S21 Ultra has the 1,500nits highest brightness among any Samsung phone.
Galaxy S21 Ultra features a 108MP primary sensor which Samsung calls “Bright Night Sensor” because of the fact that it optimizes the processing for superior low-light images. This time, the company has introduced two telephoto sensors each of 10MP with OIS, and offers 3x and 10x digital zoom. We also have a 12MP ultrawide lens with 120-degree field of view and a Laster Autofocus sensor on the top-right.
The centrally aligned punch-hole cutout on the front is a home for a 40MP selfie shooter. S21 Ultra is in fact the company’s first phone that can capture 4K videos at 60fps with all of its cameras. Also, it is the first phone to support Wi-Fi 6E which means higher bandwidth and low latency. S21 Ultra packs a 5,000mAh battery and supports 25W fast charging. Following the footsteps of Apple, first Xiaomi, and now Samsung removes charger from the retail box.
The Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra price starts from $1,199 for the 12GB/128GB base variant and goes up to $1,249 for the 12GB/256GB variant. If you need more RAM and storage, opt for the top-tier 16GB/512GB variant priced at $1,399.
Samsung Galaxy S21 and Galaxy S21+: price, specifications
The Galaxy S21 and S21+ share pretty much the same specifications and the design part is also quite indistinguishable. In fact, display size is the only key thing that separates both smartphones. Which is 6.2-inch for the vanilla S21 and the Plus variant has a slightly plus size 6.7-inch. Both the device has Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel with 1080p+ resolution and supports 120Hz refresh rate.
As we have seen a couple of times in the past, these two phones will be available in Exynos 2100 SoC and Snapdragon 888 SoC variant, depending upon the market availability. The punch-hole cutout on the front houses a 10MP selfie shooter.
Around the back, Galaxy S21 and S21+ have a triple rear camera setup. The primary one being 12MP with OIS, Dual AF same as its predecessor. It is joined with a 12MP ultrawide lens with 120-degree field of view, and a 64MP sensor that offers 30x Space Zoom and 3x lossless zoom with autofocus and OIS.
The vanilla S21 keeps the battery capacity limited to 4,000mAh whereas the Plus variant extends further to 4,800mAh. As for the charging, all the S21 series phones offer the same 25W fast charging support and 15W reverse wireless too.
The 8GB/128GB base variant of Galaxy S21 and S21+ starts from $799 and $999 respectively. Doubling the internal storage will cost you $50 more on both devices.
