Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 to start shipping from August 27

Samsung is expected to launch Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip in the next few months. Several past reports have revealed that the company might hold a launch event for these foldable phones in July or August 2021. Now, a reliable Samsung tipster Jon Prosser via FrontPageTech has revealed that Samsung will start shipping Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 from August 27. His source didn’t reveal the launch date, but it usually happens few days before the sale/shipping starts. 

A recent report from Winfuture claimed that Samsung has started mass producing Galaxy Z Fold 3 components. But, the mass production of Galaxy Z Flip 3 is yet to start. Rumors are that the new foldable from Samsung will be priced 20% cheaper than their predecessor.

Galaxy Z Fold 3 is said to be the first foldable phone with an under-display front-facing camera. It is reported to feature a triple camera setup on the rear side, all three are of 12MP resolution which are likely to function as wide, ultrawide, and telephoto lens. A 16MP Sony IMXx71 sensor will be the one under the display. It has a 10MP Sony IMX374 sensor on the cover display inside a punch-hole cutout. 

The Galaxy Z Fold 3 is said to be powered by Snapdragon 888 chipset. A 4,400mAh battery is expected to power the device with 25W fast charging support.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3

Samsung is expected to bring several major design changes in Galaxy Z Flip 3 over the previous generation. Recently leaked renders by IceUniverse revealed that the Galaxy Z Flip 3 has a thin side bezel, just 3.3mm wide. The panel has the same punch-hole style cutout for the selfie shooter. It is expected to arrive in multiple colour options – Light violet, Green, beige, and Black. Last month, the device was spotted on 3C certification with 15W fast charging.
