Xiaomi unveils Redmi Note 9, Note 9 Pro and Note 9 4G: price, specifications
Xiaomi announces new Redmi Note 9 series in China. The lineup consists of Redmi Note 9 5G, Note 9 Pro 5G, and Redmi Note 9 4G. Among the three, the Pro variant is the premium smartphone equipped with Samsung’s latest 108MP HM2 sensor. Let’s take a look at the price and specifications of each device one by one.
Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G: price, specifications
The Note 9 Pro sports a 6.67-inch FullHD+ LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 240Hz touch sampling rate. Both front and the rear side are protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5. Under the hood, it is powered by Snapdragon 750G chipset integrated with X52 modem.

Now, coming to the major highlight of the phone, that is the camera. The primary shooter is Samsung’s 108MP ISOCELL HM2 sensor. The 1/1.52″ HM2 sensor has a 9-in-1 pixel binning technology that can achieve super-large pixel night scene photography. The quad-camera setup also includes an 8MP ultrawide lens with a 120-degree field of view and two 2MP sensors for depth and macro shoot. The front panel features a 16MP selfie shooter.
Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G packs a 4,820mAh battery and supports 33W fast charging. The 33W charger can fully charge the battery in 58 minutes. We have a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. For connectivity, the phone comes with 11 antennas for a better 5G connection, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, IR Blaster, and NFC, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
Talking about the pricing, Redmi Note 9 Pro starts from CNY1,600 for the 6GB/128GB variant. There’s also an 8GB/128GB variant which is priced at CNY 1,800 and the 8GB/256GB top variant cost CNY 2,000. Official sales for Note 9 Pro and Note 9 5G start from December 1.
Redmi Note 9 5G: price, specifications
Redmi Note 9 5G is built around a 6.53-inch LCD display and is TUV certified for low blue light level (eye protection). It is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 800U chipset paired with UFS 2.2 storage.

The triple camera setup on the rear side includes a 48MP primary shooter and 8MP ultrawide lens, and a 2MP macro sensor. The main camera is capable of recording 4K videos but is limited to 30fps. For selfies and video calling, there is a 13MP front-facing camera. It packs a slightly higher 5,000mAh battery and ships with a 22.5W in-box charger.
Redmi Note 9 5G starts from CNY 1,300 for the 6GB/128GB base model. For 8GB/128GB, buyers will have to pay CNY200 more and the top variant 8GB/256GB is priced at CNY 1,700.
Redmi Note 9 4G: price, specifications
Unlike the round-shaped camera module on the other two, the Note 9 4G adopts a rectangular-shaped camera module. The main camera is of 48MP, which is joined to an 8MP ultrawide lens, and a 2MP depth sensor. On the front, we have an 8MP selfie shooter housed inside the waterdrop notch.

The smartphone has a 6.53-inch LCD display with a standard 60Hz refresh rate and 120Hz touch sampling rate. Under the hood, Note 9 4G is powered by a Snapdragon 662 processor. The battery capacity has been increased to 6,000mAh and bundles with 18W fast charging. There is no NFC but comes with stereo speakers and a 3.5mm headphone jack like the other two.
Talking about the pricing, Redmi Note 9 4G starts from CNY1,000 for the 4GB/128GB model. There’s also a 6GB/128GB variant which costs CNY 1,100 and the top storage variant 8/128GB has been priced at CNY1,300.
