Charging speed is one of the important aspects of Xiaomi smartphones. In the past, we have seen some high-speed chargers like the 120W wired charging in Mi 10 Ultra and 80W wireless charging from the company. Today, a new Xiaomi charger with up to 55W charging speed has received 3C approval.
This new charger carries a model number MDY-12-EQ. The 3C certification does not mention the smartphone names or models to feature this new charger. But, a Chinese tipster Digital Chat Station claims that upcoming mid-to-high-end smartphones from Xiaomi and some Redmi phones will feature 55W charging.
The charger outputs 5V/3A (15W), 9V/3A (27W), 20V/2.5A (50W), and 11V/5A (55W) charging rates. Earlier this year, Xiaomi launched the Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro with 30W charging and 50W charging speed respectively. Recent reports suggest that the company is in the works to launch Mi 11 flagship series, that could feature this new 55W charger. The Mi 11 series is expected to launch in January 2021.
