One UI 8.5 beta now available in India and Poland: here’s how to register and get the update

Samsung has expanded the One UI 8.5 beta program to India and Poland, allowing Galaxy S25 users in these regions to join the testing phase for the first time. The update rolling out in these new markets is identical to the second One UI 8.5 beta that is currently available for Galaxy S25 series owners in the US, UK, Germany, and South Korea.

For users in India and Poland, this initial beta build — carrying firmware version ZYLH — may have a slightly larger download size compared to the incremental update in other regions. This is because it includes all the new features and changes from the original beta that began rolling out two weeks ago, packaged into a single installation.

Here’s how to sign up for One UI 8.5 beta and get the update

The beta program is open to owners of the Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra in India and Poland. Here’s how to enroll and install the update:

  1. Open the Samsung Members app on your eligible Galaxy device. Make sure you’re signed into the app with the same Google account.
  2. Look for the One UI 8.5 Beta Program banner on the app’s homepage and tap on it.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete your registration.

Once enrolled, you can download the update by going to Settings > Software update > Download and install.

Tap on the update to download it (ensure you’re on a stable Wi-Fi connection due to the large file size), and then select Install now to apply it.

Please note that beta software may contain bugs and could result in app crashes, unfinished features, or other issues. Back up your data before installing to avoid potential loss.

What’s new in One UI 8.5 for Galaxy S25 users

This build incorporates all the changes from the first One UI 8.5 beta, including refinements to Galaxy AI, smarter lock screen customization, and improvements to Quick Share. Additionally, it focuses on stability fixes addressed in the second beta, such as resolving issues with the quick panel, Gallery app, and system reboots.

The One UI 8.5 beta remains exclusive to the Galaxy S25 series for now, and Samsung has not announced plans to extend it to other devices. The stable version, though, is coming early next year alongside the Galaxy S26 series. Post that, the update will begin rolling out to older eligible devices, starting with the Galaxy S25 series.
