Samsung has officially kicked off the One UI 8.5 beta program for the Galaxy S23 series. The Galaxy S23, S23+, and S23 Ultra are now receiving the first beta build, confirming what earlier reports had suggested about Samsung’s plans to expand the program to the S23 lineup.
The rollout has started in India and South Korea, with other markets like the UK, and the US expected to follow. The update carries firmware version S911BXXU9ZZD5 and weighs in at around 4.16GB, so a stable Wi-Fi connection is worth making sure you have before downloading. It also ships with the April 2026 security patch included.

To get the update, you’ll need to sign up for the beta first. Open the Samsung Members app, look for the One UI 8.5 beta banner on your device, and register. Once that’s done, head to Settings > Software Update > Download and Install, and the build should show up there.
As for what One UI 8.5 actually brings, expect a refreshed interface and a set of new features aimed at making day-to-day use smoother. Samsung hasn’t released a detailed changelog specific to the S23 build just yet, but the changes should largely mirror what Galaxy S25 users have been testing over the past few months.
We’ll keep you updated as more details emerge.
