Samsung is steadily pushing forward with its Android 16-based One UI 8.0 Beta Program. After debuting the beta earlier this month, the company is now rolling out the second beta update for the Galaxy Z Fold 5, Galaxy Z Flip 5, and Galaxy S23 series.
For now, the latest One UI 8.0 beta build for Galaxy S23 series has been spotted in the UK. For the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Fold 5, it’s rolling out in, but it shouldn’t be long before the latest betas make their way to more regions.

Firmware version:
- Galaxy Z Fold 5, Flip 5: ZYI6
- Galaxy S23, S23+, and S23 Ultra: ZYI5
The updates aren’t about adding new features but rather fixing critical bugs reported by beta testers. Interestingly, the changelogs for both foldables and the Galaxy S23 lineup are almost identical. Here’s what Samsung has addressed in Beta 2:
- Fixed an issue where the phone would randomly reset during use
- Fixed an issue where DeX settings weren’t maintained when updating from the previous OS to One UI 8
- Fixed an issue where the Galaxy Watch 7 weather app wasn’t updating in real time
- Fixed an issue where multi-window forcefully closed while running the camera inside a KakaoTalk chat room (Fold 5/Flip5 only)
If you’re enrolled in the beta program, you can grab the latest build by heading to Settings » Software update » Download and install on your Galaxy Z Fold 5, Flip 5, or Galaxy S23. Once the download is complete, tap Install now to apply the update.
Samsung is expected to roll out the stable One UI 8 update for the Galaxy S25 series first, likely by the end of this month, with more devices — including the Galaxy Z Fold 5, Flip 5, and S23 lineup — following shortly after.
