Oppo Reno 8 Series Officially Confirmed to Launch on May 23

Oppo Reno 8 series will launch on May 23 in China. The new Reno lineup has been subjected to various leaks and rumours in the past, revealing what we can expect from the phones. Oppo is expected to unveil three devices under the Reno 8 series – Oppo Reno 8, Reno 8 SE or Reno 8 Lite, and Reno 8 Pro. Some rumours believe that there’ll be Reno 8 Pro+ too.

According to past reports, Oppo will use the unannounced Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 SoC in the Reno 8 series. Ahead of the Reno 8 series launch event, Qualcomm will hold an event on May 20 where it is expected to announce two new chipsets: Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 and Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+. It gives additional weight to the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 SoC-powered phone rumour in the Reno8 series.

The Oppo Reno 8 Pro is said to feature a 6.62-inch FullHD+ OLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate. It could be powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset and MariSilicon X (NPU). It is said to have a 50MP primary camera on the back and a 32MP selfie camera.

According to tipster Mukul Sharma, the Reno 8 Pro+will bring a 6.7-inch FullHD+ OLED display with 120Hz refresh rate support. A Dimensity 8100-MAX processor will power the device. It will also have MariSilicon X NPU. The smartphone is tipped to come with a 32MP Sony IMX709 primary sensor and a triple camera setup on the back with a 50MP Sony IMX766 primary sensor.

Oppo Reno8 Pro+ could pack a 4,500mAh battery with support for 80W fast charging. It is expected to come in green, grey, and black colour options. The phone will feature X-axis linear motor, NFC, and dual stereo speakers.
