Poco M4 Pro and M4 Pro 5G are budget smartphones that offer a good set of specifications. While the Poco M4 Pro 5G launched in November with Android 11-based MIUI 12.5, the M4 Pro arrived earlier this year with MIUI 13 skin. But, it was also based on Android 11, unfortunately. In this article, we’ll see the latest information on the Android 12 update for the Poco M4 Pro and M4 Pro 5G.

Poco M4 Pro, M4 Pro 5G: Overview

The Poco M4 Pro has a 6.43-inch AMOLED screen, whereas the M4 Pro 5G packs a slightly bigger 6.6-inch display, but it’s an LCD panel. Both have a 5,000mAh battery, a 90Hz refresh rate, and 33W fast charging support. The 5G model has a 50MP (primary) + 8MP (ultrawide) dual rear camera, whereas the 4G model has a 64MP (primary) + 8MP (ultrawide) + 2MP (macro) triple rear camera.

On the front, there’s a 16MP selfie camera on both the Poco M4 Pro and M4 Pro 5G. The Dimensity 810 SoC powers the 5G model, and the 4G model is fueled by an Helio G96 chipset.

[Update: July 25, 2022]: The Android 12 and MIUI 13 update for the Poco M4 Pro 5G is now rolling out in the EEA region. The latest software update also brings the July 2022 security patch. It comes with the firmware version V13.0.1.0.SGBEUXM.

The update brings lots of new features, such as Material You, revamped UI, privacy indicators, and more. In Taiwan, the update comes with the firmware version V13.0.1.0.SGBTWXM and Turkey users can identify the build by the firmware version V13.0.1.0.SGBTRXM.

[Update: July 15, 2022]: The Android 12 update for Poco M4 Pro 5G is now expanding to Russia. It comes with the firmware version V13.0.1.0.SGBRUXM.
