Samsung has begun rolling out the November 2025 security patch, and interestingly, the rollout has started with budget-friendly Galaxy devices rather than flagship models. The first device to receive the update is the Galaxy A17 5G, followed soon after by the Galaxy A06 5G.
November 2025 security patch rollout begins for Galaxy devices
The Galaxy A17 5G is the first in line for this month’s security update. The rollout is currently live in Vietnam with firmware version A176BXXS3BYJ1. A short while later, Samsung also released the November 2025 patch to the Galaxy A06 5G in Iraq, the UAE, and Saudi Arabia, bearing firmware version A066EXXU3BYJ4. The update doesn’t include new features or visual changes but strengthens the device’s security by fixing the discovered vulnerabilities found in the previous software version.

The November 2025 security patch addresses 25 security vulnerabilities found in the Android operating system. Two of these are classified as critical-risk, with one affecting Android versions going back to Android 13 and the other affecting devices running Android 16. The remaining vulnerabilities have been marked as high-risk.
On top of this, Samsung has bundled its own fixes, including nine patches that apply only to Galaxy software and eleven fixes related to security flaws found in certain Exynos chipsets used across Samsung smartphones and wearables. The update as a whole strengthens privacy protections, improves system stability, and enhances overall device security.

If you have a Galaxy A17 5G or Galaxy A06 5G, the latest update may be available for installation. To manually check for updates, head over to the Settings app and go to Software updates > Download and install. If it isn’t available yet, just check back after a few hours — the rollout is still expanding and should reach more regions soon.
Both of these Galaxy smartphones have already received One UI 8.0 update, which is based on Android 16, and may also receive One UI 8.5 update. The upcoming One UI software will be based on a new version of Android 16 and will debut with the Galaxy S26 series early next year before expanding to older devices.
