Samsung details August 2025 security patch

Samsung has revealed the full details of its August 2025 security patch, and it’s already rolling out to several Galaxy devices. While the update is mostly about under-the-hood improvements, it fixes some important vulnerabilities that could’ve put users at risk.

Let’s take a look at what’s included in the latest monthly patch and which devices are being left behind.

Critical and high-priority security fixes

Like every month, Samsung’s latest patch includes fixes from both Google and Samsung. This time, Google has addressed one critical security flaw in the Android operating system, along with more than a dozen high-severity issues that impact Android devices broadly — including Galaxy phones.

In addition to that, Samsung has included 18 fixes for security vulnerabilities found in its own software. These patches target issues that could have potentially allowed hackers to gain improper access to your device, access sensitive data, or delete files without permission.

Fortunately, Samsung says all of these issues were reported privately, meaning they were patched before any real-world exploitation occurred. So, while these weren’t active threats, it’s good to know they’ve been handled behind the scenes.

When will the update reach your phone?

The August 2025 security update is already rolling out to Galaxy devices that are part of Samsung’s monthly, quarterly, or biannual update schedule. As always, the rollout is staged by region and model, so it might take a few days or even weeks to reach your device.

You can check manually by heading to Settings > Software update and hitting the Download and install option.
