Samsung’s rapid One UI 8 rollout has been mostly smooth across its flagship and mid-range lineup, but the company appears to have hit a snag with one of its major devices. Reports now suggest that Samsung has paused the One UI 8 rollout for the Galaxy S22 series due to unforeseen issues.
One UI 8 builds for Galaxy S22 pulled from servers
According to information shared by @Koram_Akhilesh, the One UI 8 firmware builds for the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and Galaxy S22 Ultra are no longer listed on Samsung’s software update servers. This indicates that the company may have temporarily pulled the update, effectively pausing its expansion to remaining users.
The stable rollout began earlier this month in select regions, but it now seems that users in India and Europe are affected by the pause. Those who already downloaded and installed the latest firmware should wait for a hotfix that will likely address the bugs.
While Samsung hasn’t officially confirmed the reason for the suspension, such pauses typically happen when critical stability or performance issues are identified post-rollout. In these cases, Samsung usually releases a hotfix build to users who installed the affected version, while withholding the update for everyone else until a new, stable build is ready.
If you’ve received the One UI 8 OTA notification but haven’t yet installed it, you may find that the download link no longer works, as the update package appears to have been pulled from Samsung’s servers.
A hotfix should arrive soon
This is the second known case of a One UI 8 suspension — the first being the Galaxy Z Fold SE — but given Samsung’s track record, a fix shouldn’t take long. The company usually resolves such issues quickly and resumes the rollout after validating a corrected firmware version.
If you’re already running the One UI 8 update and notice unusual behavior, Samsung recommends reporting issues through the Samsung Members app, attaching a LOG file to help the company’s engineers identify the problem faster.
Despite this temporary setback, Samsung’s overall One UI 8 rollout pace remains commendable, with dozens of devices — from flagships to budget phones — already upgraded to Android 16 in record time.
