Samsung pushes second One UI 8.5 beta to Galaxy S25 FE

It was a pretty busy day for Samsung on the software front. The company pushed One UI 8.5 betas to the Galaxy S23 series and the Galaxy A36, released the second beta for the Galaxy S24 series, and to cap it all off, began rolling out Beta 2 to the Galaxy S25 FE as well.

The second One UI 8.5 beta for the Galaxy S25 FE is currently live in South Korea, carrying firmware version ZZD5, as spotted by Tarun Vats. According to a Samsung Community post, the update brings nine changes in total, which are the same nine changes already delivered to Galaxy S25 users via that phone’s ninth beta build.

On the security side, the update bumps things up to the April 2026 patch, which addresses 47 vulnerabilities. Here’s a look at everything included in the changelog:

  • Support for AirDrop connection with Apple devices
  • Three new camera filters added: Classic Film, Pop Film, and Blanc
  • Fixed periodic Bluetooth connection drops
  • Fixed notification card being cut off at the top
  • Fixed screen flickering and color distortion when changing zoom during dual recording
  • Fixed stuttering when opening gallery albums under certain conditions
  • Fixed incorrect AOD time display in certain situations
  • Fixed notification card UI when the device is rotated
  • Fixed lock screen briefly appearing before transitioning to an incoming call screen

Samsung hasn’t officially confirmed when Beta 2 will expand beyond South Korea, but based on how these rollouts typically go, users in other countries part of the One UI 8.5 beta program — including India, the UK, and the US — should see it within a day or two. To check if it’s available, head to Settings > Software update > Download and install.

It’s important to highlight that while the S25 FE is moving through its own beta cycle, Samsung is already developing One UI 9 based on Android 17 for upcoming devices. That means the company is juggling a lot right now, and today’s flurry of updates is a good sign that it’s trying to wrap up the One UI 8.5 beta rollout across eligible Galaxy devices before shifting focus.

We’ll keep you updated as the rollout expands.
