Samsung has announced blockbuster financial results for the fourth quarter of 2025, with operating profit tripling year-on-year to reach a record high. The staggering growth was primarily fueled by robust demand and higher prices for memory chips, especially those used in artificial intelligence servers.
For the quarter ended December 31, 2025, Samsung reported consolidated revenue of KRW 93.8 trillion and an operating profit of KRW 20.1 trillion. This represents a significant leap from the KRW 75.8 trillion revenue and KRW 6.5 trillion operating profit reported in the same period last year. The Q4 2025 figures mark the highest quarterly revenue and profit in the company’s history.
The standout performance came from the Device Solutions (DS) Division, which encompasses Samsung’s semiconductor business. The division recorded KRW 44.0 trillion in revenue and a massive KRW 16.4 trillion in operating profit. The memory business was the clear driver of this growth, achieving strong profitability by focusing on high-value-added products like High-Bandwidth Memory (HBM) for AI, server-grade DDR5 memory, and enterprise SSDs. However, the System LSI business saw a decline due to weaker seasonal demand, and the Foundry business reported limited earnings improvement despite revenue growth.
Samsung Display Corporation also contributed strongly with KRW 9.5 trillion in revenue and KRW 2.0 trillion in operating profit, benefiting from healthy smartphone demand and expanding sales in IT and automotive displays.
The Mobile eXperience (MX) business, responsible for Galaxy smartphones, reported revenue of KRW 29.3 trillion and an operating profit of KRW 1.9 trillion. Looking ahead, Samsung highlighted its intention to “strengthen leadership in AI smartphones in 2026,” with the upcoming Galaxy S26 series expected to feature advanced “Agentic AI” experiences.
Not all divisions performed equally well. The Visual Display and Digital Appliances businesses posted an operating loss of KRW 0.6 trillion despite solid sales of premium TVs, citing stiff competition pressuring margins.
For the full year 2025, Samsung reported annual revenue of KRW 333.6 trillion and operating profit of KRW 43.6 trillion. This financial strength provides a solid foundation for the company’s ambitious 2026 product roadmap, which includes the launch of the AI-focused Galaxy S26 series.
