Samsung releases One UI 8.5 Beta 8 for Galaxy S25 series

Galaxy S25 series One UI 8.5 Beta 8 update

One UI 8.5 Beta 7 was supposed to be the last one, but Samsung had other plans. The company has now pushed out Beta 8 for the Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra, and the stable release is reportedly just around the corner.

The update is rolling out in Germany, Korea, India, and the UK. It comes with the firmware version S93xBXXU8ZZCD and has a download size of about 928MB, as spotted by Tarun Vats. It covers nine changes spread across new features, bug fixes, and general performance improvements. Perhaps the most notable addition with Beta 8 is the jump to the March 2026 security patch, which takes care of 65 security vulnerabilities carried over from the previous build.

On the feature side, Samsung has added a new story type inside the Gallery app that generates monthly, quarterly, or yearly reviews automatically. The rest of the changelog is squarely focused on fixes, targeting issues across the camera, Studio, lock screen, notifications, and Galaxy Book 4 connectivity. Here’s the complete list of changes:

  • Added a new story type within the Gallery (monthly/quarterly/yearly review)
  • Improved the issue of corrupted camera quick view previews when cloud-exclusive videos were the latest
  • Fixed an issue where originals were not restored after changing the storage resolution in Studio
  • Improved the flickering when updating real-time notification cards
  • Improved the bubble notification badge not disappearing after checking received bubble notification
  • Fixed an issue where the clock shortcut disappeared when the screen was turned off while Now Brief was running
  • Improved an issue where the date was displayed incorrectly after editing a video with metadata errors
  • Improved an issue where shots were corrupted or not captured when scrolling in Naver Map
  • Improved the issue where certain folders could not be copied when connected to shared storage with Galaxy Book 4

To grab the update, head to Settings > Software update > Download and install on your Galaxy S25 smartphone. Keep in mind that the update gradually expands in batches, and therefore it can take some time to reach your phone.

Multiple reports suggest Samsung is wrapping up the beta program and preparing to ship the stable One UI 8.5 update for the S25 series shortly. If you’re wondering whether your device is on the list of eligible Galaxy phones, that’s worth a check.

In the meantime, Samsung has already begun work on One UI 9.0, which is based on Android 17. The company is expected to debut it with the Galaxy Z Fold 8 later this year, with a wider rollout to older devices following after that.
