Samsung has launched two premium phones today, Galaxy Note20 and Galaxy Note20 Ultra. The Galaxy Note20 series smartphones are much improved in terms of software and hardware also the S-pen is now more better than earlier. Both Galaxy Note20 and Galaxy Note20 Ultra features a punch-hole design for the selfie camera and on the back side a rectangular camera module. Note20 Ultra has a slightly smaller punch hole camera as compared to the Note20. Both the phones comes with stylus pen as a Samsung’s tradition for all of it’s Note series smartphones. Let’s take a detailed look on each of them one by one.
Samsung Galaxy Note20, Note 20 Ultra – price, sale details
The Samsung Galaxy Note20 comes with a price tag of $999.99 (approx Rs 74,800) for the 5G variant with 8GB/128GB storage. The phone also comes in 8GB/256GB with 5G connectivity and a 4G variant with 8GB/256GB. It will be available in Mystic Green, Mystic Gray and Mystic Bronze color options.
Coming to the Galaxy Note20 Ultra, the 5G variant with 12GB RAM and 128GB storage will cost $1299.99 (approx Rs 97,300). There will be two more version with 5G support, that is 12GB RAM + 256GB storage and 12GB RAM + 512GB storage. The 4G variants are – 8GB RAM + 128GB storage and 8GB RAM + 256GB storage. Color options are – Mystic Bronze, Mystic Black and Mystic White.
Both the phones will be up for pre-order from August 6 in the US and sale will begin from August 21. The company has not said anything about the launch of these two products in India.
Samsung Galaxy Note20 Ultra
The Galaxy Note20 Ultra features a 6.9-inch Dynamic AMOLED display with QHD+ (1440×3200 pixels) resolution, 120Hz refresh rate and 19.3:9 aspect ratio. To use the 120Hz refresh rate, you will need to set the screen resolution to 1080p. The handset is powered by Snapdragon 865+ powerful chipset for the US and China markets while all other markets such as India will get Exynos 990 SoC. There is also a microSD card slot in both 4G and 5G variant to expand the storage up to 1TB.
As for the camera, we have a triple camera setup on the back with 108MP primary camera with optical stabilization and 8K video recording at 24fps. Other two camera includes a 12MP ultra-wide camera, a 12MP periscope sensor with 50x space zoom and 3x optical zoom. Below the LED flash, there is a Laser Autofocus system. The front side gets a 10MP shooter with F2.2 aperture and dual-pixel autofocus technology.
The Galaxy Note20 Ultra runs Android 10 with OneUI 2.0 on the top. It packs 4,500mAh battery and 25W in-box fast charger. It also supports fast charging up to 45W, supports 15W reverse wireless charging and 9W reverse wireless charging. Connectivity feature includes Bluetooth 5.2, Wi-Fi 6, Dual GPS, USB Type-C 3.2, Wireless Dex. The phone has ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner and IP68 certification.
Samsung Galaxy Note20
The Galaxy Note20 has a 6.7-inch smaller display with FHD+ resolution and the panel is flatter one. The display specifications are much downgraded as compared to the Ultra as it only gets 60Hz refresh rate and the screen protection is old Gorilla Glass 5. The chipset configuration is same as that in Ultra, Exynos 990 in India and Europe and Snapdragon 865+ to other countries.
The triple camera setup on rear side comprises of a 12MP main camera with OIS and Dual pixel autofocus, a 64MP telephoto camera with 30x space zoom and 3x optical zoom and a 12MP ultra-wide sensor. On the front, we have a 10MP sensor for front photography.
The Galaxy Note20 runs Android 10 with OneUI 2.0 on the top. Like the Ultra model, there is also a support for microSD to expand the storage up to 1TB. It packs 4,300mAh battery and supports fast charging. For additinal security, the phone has ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner. Connectivity feature includes Bluetooth 5.1, USB Type-C 3.2, Wi-Fi 6, Wireless Dex and NFC.
