Samsung launched mid-range Exynos 880 SoC with 5G connectivity and reduced loading time
Samsung announced it’s new chipset Exynos 880 for mid-range smartphones with improved performance and 5G connectivity. The first phone to be powered by this chispet is Vivo Y70s which is already launched in China.
The 8nm Exynos 880 features octa-core CPU which includes 2 Cortex-A77 cores with clock speed of 2.0GHz and 6 Cortex-A55 cores at a clock speed of 1.8GHz. For graphics operations the chipset has Mali-G76 MP5 GPU for which the company claims to deliver faster gaming performance, high frame rate and reduced loading time. The chipset has integrated NPU and DSP for on-screen AI processing.
The Exynos 880 offers 5G connectivity at affordable price. The integrated 5G connectivity delivers up to 2.55GBPS download speed and up to 1.28GBPS uploading speed over sub-6GHz networks. SoC also supports E-UTRA-NR dual connectivity which combines 4G and 5G to provide 3.55GBPD of downlink and 1.38GBPS uplink. In terms of storage, the chipset supports LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.1 storage.

Exynos 880 chipset supports FHD+ display. Coming to the camera, the SoC supports Single camera up to 64MP or 20MP+20MP dual camera setup. It supports highest video resolution up to 4K at 30fps with H.265, H.264, VP9 encoding/decoding. Connectivity features are Dual-band Wi-Fi, FM-Radio, Bluetooth 5.0, Navigation (GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, galileo), USB Type-C port, Wi-Fi 5.
