Update: Instagram now allows direct messaging on desktop

After testing for few months, Instagram now allows direct messaging on desktop. Now you can send, receive, reply to direct messaging on Instagram. Direct messaging feature supports GIF, Emojis, sending video and audio. In other words, features there are present on smartphone are included in desktop version.

A few day ago, Facebook had launched Messenger application for Windows and Mac devices.

Now, all the three application Facebook, Whatsapp and Instagram from Facebook company includes the messaging feature. Also, all three includes video chatting facility, status feature and more.

People using Instagram on desktop uses other service to send messages like Gmail etc. Now, it would be very helpful for them to send direct messages using instagram on desktop. So that they do not need to switch between application/websites. There are businesses also who run through instagram, and now it will be easy to manage their customers.
