Stable HyperOS 3 update rolling out to first batch of eligible devices

Xiaomi finally begins rolling out the stable version of HyperOS 3 — the Android 16-based update that’s now reaching its first batch of devices. The new update packs a punch with refreshed visuals, more customization options, and a deeper layer of AI smarts built into the system.

These Xiaomi phones are getting the stable HyperOS 3 update

The stable HyperOS 3 build is currently live in China for select flagships and upper mid-range models — and should gradually expand to more regions later this month.

Here’s the first batch of Xiaomi devices getting the update in China:

  • Xiaomi 15 Ultra
  • Xiaomi 15S Pro
  • Xiaomi 15 Pro
  • Xiaomi 15
  • Redmi K80 Pro
  • Redmi K80 Extreme Edition

If you own any of these devices, you can check for the new version by heading to Settings > About phone > tap the HyperOS logo > Check for updates. The global rollout is expected to follow soon, with the Xiaomi 15 lineup slated to receive the stable update between October and November.

What’s new in HyperOS 3?

HyperOS 3 brings some major visual and functional upgrades, led by Xiaomi Super Island — a slick new multitasking feature inspired by Apple’s Dynamic Island. It lives at the top of the screen and shows live activities like incoming calls, timers, or app notifications in an interactive pop-up style. What makes Xiaomi’s version stand out is that it can handle up to three islands at once and supports floating windows, giving users even more control.

The update also introduces redesigned app icons with smoother corners and brighter color palettes, creating a cleaner and more modern look. Xiaomi has revamped the lock screen experience too, adding features like AI Cinematic Lock Screen and AI Dynamic Wallpapers that bring subtle motion and depth effects for a more personalized touch. There’s also a centralized lock screen editing interface that makes customization much easier.

Under the hood, Xiaomi HyperAI powers a new suite of AI-driven tools. These include features like smart screen recognition, DeepThink mode for generating ideas or summaries, and AI-powered caption writing for social media. Users can even use AI Speech Recognition to transcribe recordings, remove background noise, and get instant summaries.

Another area Xiaomi focused on is cross-device integration. With HyperOS 3, the experience feels more connected than ever — whether you’re linking your phone to a Xiaomi tablet or even pairing it with Apple devices. You can now run Xiaomi apps on an iPad, mirror multiple apps on a Mac in windowed mode, and even use Face ID or Touch ID to unlock your Xiaomi phone. There’s also better interoperability with iPhones, such as the ability to locate your Xiaomi phone through a Xiaomi hotspot connection.

And of course, all these features are backed by plenty of performance and efficiency improvements, promising smoother animations, faster app launches, and lower battery drain compared to the previous version.
