Samsung’s making a strong comeback with a speedy One UI 8 rollout. Just days after pushing the stable Android 16-based update to several high-end and mid-range models ahead of schedule, the Galaxy A55, Galaxy A35, and Galaxy A26 5G are now joining the list. These devices were originally slated to receive the update in the first week of October, but Samsung has delivered it early — similar to what we saw with the Galaxy S23 series and the Galaxy A36.
The rollout is currently limited to select regions. In South Korea, the Galaxy A35 is getting the update with firmware version A356NKSU5CYI8, while the Galaxy A55 — sold locally as the Galaxy Quantum 5 — is receiving it with firmware version A556SKSU6CYI6. Meanwhile, the Galaxy A26 5G has started receiving the stable One UI 8 update in Vietnam with build number A266BXXU4BYI2.
- Galaxy A55 (Korea): A556SKSU6CYI6
- Galaxy A35 (Korea): A356NKSU5CYI8
- Galaxy A26 (Vietnam): A266BXXU4BYI2
As always, the update is making its way in phases, so not everyone will see it immediately. If you own one of these devices, you can head over to Settings > Software update > Download and install to check manually. Once the package finishes downloading, tap Install now and your phone will restart to complete the process.

The latest software brings a refreshed UI with smoother animations and enhanced customization features, along with privacy and security improvements. It also includes new AI-powered tools Samsung has been gradually adding across the Galaxy lineup, plus upgrades for core apps like Samsung Internet, Quick Share, and My Files.
For now, the rollout is confined to Korea and Vietnam, but it shouldn’t take long before Samsung expands it to more countries. Given the company’s current pace, users in Europe, India, and other markets can likely expect the update within days.
Looking ahead, Samsung plans to push One UI 8 to most of its eligible Galaxy phones and tablets in October, with the remaining few following in early November. Considering the rocky delays around One UI 7 last year, this accelerated rollout feels like a strong comeback and a big win for Galaxy users worldwide.
