Redmi has launched it’s budget smartphone Redmi 9 Prime for Indian market. The phone has same set of specification as in Redmi 9 Global variant which was launched in Spain in the month of June. Key highlights of Redmi 9 Prime includes Quad cameras, Helio G80 processor, and a large 5,020mAh battery.
Redmi 9 Prime – price, sale date
The Redmi 8 Prime comes with a price tag of Rs 9,999 for the 4GB/64GB variant. The other 4GB/128GB variant will cost Rs 11,999. It will be available in Space Blue, Mint Green, Sunrise Flare and Matte Black colors. First sale of Redmi 9 Prime will be live on August 6 at 10am as an early access sale during the prime day. After the early access sale, the sale will start from August 17.
Redmi 9 Prime Specifications
The Redmi 9 Prime features a 6.53-inch FullHD+ display with 19.5:9 aspect ratio, and 400nits maximum brightness. It is powered by 2GHz octa-core MediaTek Helio G80 processor paired with 4GB DDR4X RAM. There is also a microSD card slot for additional storage up to 512GB.
On the back we have a quad camera setup which includes a 13MP primary camera, an 8MP ultra-wide camera with 118-degree field view, a 5MP macro camera and a 2MP depth sensor. The front side gets an 8MP camera with 77.8-degree field of view. You can record videos up to 1080p resolution at 30fps frame rate.
Redmi 9 Prime runs Android 10 with MIUI 11 on the top. Maximum battery capacity in this phone is 5,020mAh and supports 18W Quick Charge 3.0. However, in the retail box you get only a 10W charger. The phone has a rear-side fingerprint scanner and protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3 covering. Connectivity feature includes 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 5.0, IR Blaster, Wi-Fi, FM Radio, GPS, 3.5mm headphone jack and a USB Type-C port.
