Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi has already launched a bunch of smartphones in the Redmi K30 series which includes Redmi K30 4G, Redmi K30 5G, Redmi K30 Pro, Redmi K30 5G Racing Edition and Redmi K30i 5G. Now the company is working to expand the Redmi K30 series by adding a smartphone dubbed as Redmi K30 Ultra.
Guys at XDA Developers have found a new Redmi device within a recent MIUI 12 build. The source code mentions “Redmi K30 Ultra” with the codename cezanne. On further digging into the code, they have found that the device will sport a quad camera on rear side which includes a 64MP primary camera and no details about the cameras. On the front, there will be a pop-up styled selfie camera.
The upcoming K30 Ultra will be powered by a MediaTek chipset likely to be Dimensity 1000. This is a bit strange because none of the Redmi K30 series device are powered by MediaTek processors.
The report also mentions the leak from Digital Chat Station. According to the leak, A new Redmi device with 144Hz refresh rate, Dimensity 1000 chipset, and a 64MP Sony IMX686 camera and a pop-up selfie camera is in development. XDA concludes that there is no evidence to verify that this device is Redmi K30 Ultra.
