Samsung has started rolling out the stable One UI 8.5 update based on Android 16 QPR2 to the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5. The update is live in South Korea first, and it officially closes the beta chapter for both devices.
The firmware versions to look out for are F946NKSU6GZDT for the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and F731NKSU6GZDU for the Galaxy Z Flip 5, as shared by Tarun Vats on X. As is typical with Samsung’s major rollouts, South Korea gets access before other regions. A broader global release is expected to follow, though Samsung hasn’t given a specific date yet.
The wider One UI 8.5 stable rollout actually kicked off on May 11, with more devices and countries coming on board from May 18 onward. The Z Fold 5 and Flip 5 joining that wave is a good sign for other Galaxy owners still waiting. If you want to know whether your device is on the list, here’s the full rundown of One UI 8.5 eligible Galaxy devices.
One UI 8.5 brings a refreshed interface along with a range of new features, though Samsung hasn’t published a detailed changelog specific to these two foldables just yet. For a complete picture of everything the update includes, you can check out our dedicated One UI 8.5 feature guide.
To check if the update is available on your device, go to Settings > Software update > Download and install. It may take a few days to reach all units even within South Korea, so if nothing shows up right away, try again later. We’ll keep you updated as the rollout expands to more regions.
