What’s New in One UI 6.1

One UI 6.1 offers plenty of Galaxy AI features, but those have been reserved for select premium Galaxy smartphones, including the S23 series, Fold 5, Flip 5, and Note 20 series.

So, the Samsung Galaxy A52 4G and Galaxy A52 5G won’t get Galaxy AI features.

Then, what does the One UI 6.1 have to offer to these devices?

Well, One UI 6.1 brings smoother animations, performance tweaks, and some new and improved camera features, such as improved single-take mode, a new long-exposure feature, and the ability to colorize B&W images.

The new One UI version could also bring cross-device video editing support.

[March 20, 2024]: While Galaxy A52 users wait for the next One UI release, Samsung wants to ensure the device runs the latest security patch. The company is now pushing the March 2024 security update for the Galaxy A52.

[March 12, 2024]: Samsung brings a new update to the Galaxy A54 4G users that installs the February 2024 security patch. The update is currently available in India. However, it’s expansion to more countries shouldn’t take long.

[February 21, 2024]: Samsung has announced that One UI 6.1 will start rolling out in late March 2024. Sadly, this rollout timeline is for devices that are eligible for Galaxy AI, which includes the Galaxy S23 series, S23 FE, Galaxy Z Fold 5, Flip 5, and Galaxy Tab S9 series.

Samsung didn’t announce when the next One UI upgrade will be available for older devices that won’t get Galaxy AI, such as Galaxy A52.

[January 18, 2024]: Samsung has just spilled more details on Galaxy AI. The brand has just confirmed that Galaxy AI will come to the S23 series, S23 FE, Fold 5, Flip 5, and Tab S9 series.

Sadly, Galaxy A52 4G and Galaxy A52 5G won’t get Galaxy AI features, but the phones will get One UI 6.1.

Galaxy AI will be released to eligible devices along with the One UI 6.1 update before June 2024. So it’s safe to assume that One UI 6.1 isn’t coming to Galaxy A52 4G and A52 5G before June.

[January 17, 2024]: During the Galaxy Unpacked 2024 event today, Samsung announced that Galaxy AI features are coming to select premium devices, but they didn’t reveal device names. Those AI features will come with One UI 6.1 update.
