Samsung has pushed out a new update for the Galaxy Tab S9 FE and Galaxy Tab S9 FE+, starting the rollout in South Korea. The update delivers the April 2026 security patch, which closes 47 security vulnerabilities across the two tablets.
The firmware versions tied to this release are X610XXSCDZD6 for the Galaxy Tab S9 FE and X510XXSCDZD6 for the S9 FE+. Beyond the security fixes, there’s no word of any new features bundled in. It’s a focused patch, and that’s fine given what’s presumably coming next for these tablets.
South Korea is typically Samsung’s first stop for new software releases, with other regions usually following within a few days. So if you’re using one of these tablets outside Korea, the April patch should reach you fairly soon. To check manually, head to Settings > Software update > Download and install.
Worth mentioning: Samsung actually started rolling out the May 2026 security patch last week for some devices, which means the Galaxy Tab S9 FE series is now catching up from a month behind. That’s not ideal, but at least the gap is closing. Many devices are still waiting on the April patch, so the Tab S9 FE lineup is now ahead of a good chunk of Samsung’s portfolio on that front.
The more exciting news for Tab S9 FE owners is what’s coming next. The tablets are expected to receive One UI 8.5, based on Android 16 QPR2, within the next few weeks. That’s a significant step up from a routine security patch, bringing a refreshed interface and a range of new features. If you want to know whether your device is on the One UI 8.5 eligible devices list, we’ve got you covered.
