Good Lock team confirms which modules work on One UI 9 Beta, and which ones don’t yet

Good Lock One UI 9

Since the One UI 9.0 Beta Program launched on May 13, Good Lock users have had one pressing question: what actually works right now? Samsung’s Good Lock team has now answered that directly through the Samsung Community, breaking down which modules are ready and which ones are still being worked on.

For those who are unaware, Good Lock compatibility has historically been one of the more frustrating parts of major One UI transitions. Modules tend to lag behind because they hook into different layers of the system, and a new One UI version often changes enough under the hood to break things. This time around, Samsung seems to have gotten ahead of it. A solid chunk of the Good Lock ecosystem is already functional on the One UI 9 Beta, which is a better starting position than some previous cycles.

What’s working right now

According to Samsung, the following modules are confirmed to be supported on the One UI 9 Beta:

  • One Hand Operation+
  • Sound Assistant
  • Keys Cafe
  • Theme Park
  • Wonderland
  • Edge Lighting+
  • Dropship
  • Galaxy To Share
  • Routines+
  • Nice Catch
  • Edge Touch
  • Camera Assistant
  • RegiStar
  • Display Assistant
  • Nice Shot
  • Gallery Assistant

That’s 16 modules, covering a wide range of what most Galaxy power users actually rely on day to day. Camera Assistant, Sound Assistant, and Routines+ alone handle a significant portion of the customization work for a lot of people, so having those available from day one is meaningful.

The modules still in development

The list of apps not yet ready includes some of the more complex ones. Currently under development are:

  • QuickStar
  • LockStar
  • ClockFace
  • NavStar
  • NotiStar
  • Home Up
  • MultiStar
  • Game Booster+

None of these absences are particularly surprising. Apps like Home Up and NavStar dig deep into One UI’s core, touching launcher behavior, gesture navigation, and system-level UI rendering. When Samsung changes how animations or the recents panel work between One UI versions, those modules tend to break first. QuickStar has had its own compatibility bumps even during One UI 8.5 testing, so it needing more time for One UI 9 tracks.

The Good Lock team says development on the remaining modules is actively ongoing, with the stated goal of having everything ready before One UI 9.0 hits stable. Samsung didn’t give specific dates for any of the missing apps, but the messaging suggests they want to avoid the patchy rollout situation that’s played out during some earlier beta programs.

If you’re already enrolled in the One UI 9 Beta, the current module availability is reasonably usable for most setups. We’ll keep you updated as more modules come online ahead of the stable release.
