Nokia G42 5G Android 14 Update Is Now Live

While smartphone companies such as Samsung and OnePlus are wrapping up their Android 14 update rollout, Nokia has just entered the race. The brand is rolling out the Android 14 update to the Nokia G42 5G.

Not too long ago, the device was spotted on Geekbench – a benchmarking platform – running Android 14, and now the update is ready and rolling out to the G42 5G users. HMD Global is pushing the Android 14 update with the software version V2.160.

As it’s a major Android upgrade, users must download a bulky software package that weighs around 2.68GB. Hence, ensure that your Nokia device is connected to a stable network with sufficient network bandwidth.

Upgrading to Android 14 will bring your Nokia smartphone with new lock screen customizations, better health tracking, more control over privacy, monochrome themes, flash notifications, a new battery settings page, the ability to use your phone as a webcam, and more. The software package for the Nokia G42 5G also includes the December 2023 security patch.

The update is rolling out in batches, so it can take a few days to complete. If you have the Nokia G42 5G and haven’t received an update notification, go to Settings > About Phone > Software Update to manually check for updates.
