Samsung has officially announced One UI 9.0, its next big Android update based on Android 17, and the beta program is now open. If you’re wondering whether your Galaxy device made the cut, here’s what we know so far.
For now, the beta is limited to just three devices:
- Galaxy S26
- Galaxy S26+
- Galaxy S26 Ultra
That’s a short list, and it’s expected to grow. Samsung typically rolls the beta out to a much wider set of devices over time, covering flagships from the Galaxy S, Z Fold, Z Flip, and even select Galaxy A series phones. We saw the same approach play out with both the One UI 8.0 and One UI 8.5 beta programs, where more devices were added in waves over the following weeks and months.
One UI 9.0 brings a refreshed interface alongside several new features and improvements, though Samsung hasn’t gone deep on specifics yet. What we do know is that development has been underway for a while, with test builds already spotted on Samsung’s servers earlier this year. The company has also been running One UI 9 tests on upcoming foldable devices, which is in line with its strategy of launching the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Flip 8 with the latest software out of the box.
As Samsung confirms the beta for additional devices, we’ll update this article to reflect those additions.
