WhatsApp’s New Feature Lets You Share Status Updates From Web Interface

If you had to share a status update on WhatsApp, there was no official way to do it without touching your mobile phone. But things could change soon as WhatsApp has begun rolling out a new feature that allows users to share updated from the web interface. So, even while doing things on your computer, you can easily share status updates on WhatsApp.

According to a report by WABetaInfo, this new WhatsApp feature is currently rolling out to the beta testers of WhatsApp Web and WhatsApp app for Android. The ability to share WhatsApp status updates from the web interface has been spotted after updating to WhatsApp Web beta 2.2353.59.

Beta testers, after updating their WhatsApp Web to the required version, will get the option to share status updates. Beta users will see a green plus icon, tapping on which gives the option to share status updates in photos, videos, or text form.

Sharing status updates on WhatsApp has become a general habit for millions. And this smart move from WhatsApp is going to make it more easy to share status updates.

As of now, there’s no official word on the public rollout of this new feature that allows users to share status updates from the web interface. Even if you want to test this new feature by joining the beta programme, you can’t do it, as WhatsApp isn’t allowing more users to sign up for the beta updates.

WhatsApp is also working on a big change to stop offering free unlimited WhatsApp backup on Google Drive.
