These Samsung phones will likely support Gemini Intelligence

Google has announced Gemini Intelligence, the next step in its on-device AI push, and Samsung is already preparing to bring it to Galaxy devices. The catch? Not every Galaxy phone will make the cut, and some premium models may be left out despite being relatively new.

The core requirement here is support for Gemini Nano v3, Google’s latest on-device AI model. Gemini Intelligence leans on it heavily to power features like improved voice typing, contextual suggestions, and dynamic widgets. Devices still running the older Nano v2 won’t be able to access the full experience, and that’s where things get a little complicated for Samsung’s lineup.

Which Galaxy phones are likely in?

According to information pulled from a Google developer page, spotted by AssembleDebug on X, the Galaxy S26 series is fully on board. The Galaxy S26, S26+, and S26 Ultra all meet the hardware requirements thanks to their newer chipsets and sufficient memory. These devices were built with next-generation AI capabilities in mind, so this isn’t much of a surprise.

Samsung’s upcoming foldables are also expected to qualify. The Galaxy Z Fold 8, Galaxy Z Flip 8, and Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide are all likely candidates, given they should ship with hardware capable of running Nano v3. There’s even some speculation that Samsung could debut Gemini Intelligence on the foldables before Google rolls it out to Pixel devices, which would be a notable moment for the Galaxy lineup.

Which phones might miss out?

This is where it gets a bit frustrating. Devices like the Galaxy Z TriFold and the Galaxy Z Fold 7 currently lack Gemini Nano v3 support. Both are premium phones, and the TriFold in particular isn’t cheap, so their potential exclusion is hard to swallow. Unless Samsung and Google can enable Nano v3 support through a software update, these devices may only get a limited version of the Gemini Intelligence experience rather than the full package.

Samsung hasn’t made any official announcements about which devices will officially support Gemini Intelligence or when it’ll arrive. The developer page data gives us a reasonable picture, but nothing is confirmed just yet. Given that One UI 9 development is already underway, Gemini Intelligence could arrive as part of that update or potentially even earlier for compatible devices.
