Samsung has kicked off the May 2026 security update rollout for Galaxy devices. The Galaxy A55 was first to receive it, followed shortly by the Galaxy A54. More devices will join the list in the coming weeks as Samsung gradually expands the rollout.
This month’s patch is more significant than most. It covers fixes for over three dozen vulnerabilities, including a serious zero-click Android exploit flagged by Google. A zero-click flaw is particularly dangerous because it doesn’t require any interaction from the user for an attacker to execute code on the device. That alone makes this update worth installing as soon as it lands.
Galaxy devices confirmed to have received the May 2026 update
The list is still short, but it’ll grow as Samsung pushes the update to more models over the next few weeks:
Galaxy A series
- Galaxy A56
- Galaxy A55
- Galaxy A54
A couple of things to keep in mind before you refresh your Software Update screen. Samsung rolls these updates out in waves, so the timing can vary based on your region and carrier. Someone on the exact same model in a different country may get it before you, or after. It’s also worth knowing that your CSC code plays a role in how quickly updates arrive for your device.
How to install the May 2026 security update
Once the update shows up on your device, go to Settings, then Software update, and tap Download and install. After it downloads, tap Install now. Your Galaxy device will reboot to complete the update.
We’ll keep this list updated as more Galaxy devices start receiving the May 2026 security patch. Stay tuned to our Samsung updates section or join our Telegram channel for real-time alerts.
