Will Galaxy A33 5G Get One UI 6.1 Update?

Samsung Galaxy A33 5G will get One UI 6.1 update, although an official confirmation is still awaited.

Samsung typically sends incremental updates to all devices that get the major update. Since the Galaxy A33 5G has already been upgraded to One UI 6.0, it should also get One UI 6.1.

What’s New in One UI 6.1?

One UI 6.1 offers plenty of Galaxy AI features, but those have been reserved for some premium Galaxy smartphones, such as the S23 series, Fold 5, Flip 5, and Note 20 series.

Sadly, the Samsung Galaxy A33 5G won’t get Galaxy AI features.

Then, what does the One UI 6.1 have to offer?

Well, it brings smoother animations, performance tweaks, and some new and improved camera features, such as improved single-take mode, a new long-exposure feature, and the ability to colorize B&W images.

[May 17, 2024]: Samsung finally rolls out the One UI 6.1 update to Galaxy A33 5G. Currently, the update is available in Singapore. It should expand to more regions in the coming days.

The update comes with the firmware version A336EDXU8EXDD and has a download size of around 2GB. Hence, ensure a stable internet connection before downloading the update package.

[March 18, 2024]: The March 2024 security patch is now rolling out to Galaxy A33 5G. Hence, the wait for One UI 6.1 continues.

[February 21, 2024]: Samsung has announced that One UI 6.1 will start rolling out in late March 2024. Sadly, this rollout timeline is for devices that are eligible for Galaxy AI, which includes the Galaxy S23 series, S23 FE, Galaxy Z Fold 5, Flip 5, and Galaxy Tab S9 series.

Samsung didn’t announce when the next One UI upgrade will be available for older devices that won’t get Galaxy AI, such as Galaxy A33.

[January 18, 2024]: Samsung has now revealed details on which devices will get Galaxy AI features. The list includes the Galaxy S23 series, S23 FE, Galaxy Z Fold 5, Galaxy Z Flip 5, and Galaxy Tab S9 series.

So, as expected, Galaxy A33 5G won’t get Galaxy AI features. However, it will receive the One UI 6.1 update in the coming months.

Samsung will bring Galaxy AI with One UI 6.1 update to those eligible devices in the first half of this year. So, it seems that the One UI 6.1 update isn’t coming to Galaxy A33 5G before June 2024.

[January 17, 2024]: During the Galaxy Unpacked event today, Samsung revealed that many Galaxy AI features from the S24 series will come to select premium Galaxy devices.

The company didn’t reveal device names, but that statement itself tells that Galaxy A33 5G won’t get Galaxy AI.
