Galaxy A56 One UI 8.5 update rolls out to more regions

Samsung Galaxy A56

Samsung’s One UI 8.5 rollout just got a little wider. After kicking things off in Korea on May 18, the Galaxy A56 is now picking up the update in Europe as well, and the global push looks to be underway.

The update carries build number A566BXXUACZDR and weighs in at close to 3GB, so a stable Wi-Fi connection is a good idea before hitting download. It also comes with the April 5, 2026 security patch bundled in. If you want to check manually, go to Settings > Software update and tap Download and install.

As for what’s actually changing, One UI 8.5 brings a fair amount to the table. The visual side gets a noticeable refresh, with transparent blur effects and floating UI elements giving the interface a lighter, more modern feel. Bixby gets smarter too, with better natural language understanding and the ability to pull up past conversation history. The lock screen sees improvements for people and pet wallpapers, with automatic layout adjustments, more clock options, and new downloadable interactive wallpapers. On the connectivity side, Storage Sharing across Samsung devices, Auto Hotspot improvements, and faster Smart View connections round out the update.

One thing to keep in mind: mid-range devices don’t always get the same priority treatment as Samsung’s flagships when it comes to rollout speed. The A56 is among the devices eligible for One UI 8.5, but it could take a few days, or even longer, before the update shows up in every region where the phone is sold.

For now, European Galaxy A56 users are in luck. Everyone else should keep an eye on the Software update section in Settings. We’ll keep you updated as the rollout expands to more regions.
