Samsung has confirmed that the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Fold 5 will borrow many of the Galaxy AI features from the newly arrived S24 series. The brand hasn’t revealed the ones that’ll be missed, but the good news is that AI capabilities are coming to your Galaxy.
The Galaxy AI brings features like the circle to search with Google, convert any video to slow-mo, live translation during a phone call, generative wallpaper, and photo editing, to name a few.
One UI 6.1 also brings an improved Single Take mode, a new long-exposure feature, colorizing black and white images, cross-device video editing using the Studio editing app, and HDR video support in social apps. One UI 6.1 also lets you pick a desired frame of a Motion Photo and use AI upscaling to turn it into a 12MP representative photo.

When Will Galaxy Z Fold 5, Flip 5 Get One UI 6.1 Update
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Fold 5 are among the select devices that will get the One UI 6.1 update with Galaxy AI features. The brand has also confirmed that the update will arrive in the first half of 2024, which means before June.

[April 6, 2024]: The Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 are getting a new update in Europe that installs the April 2024 security patch.
Users can identify the update by the following build versions:
- Galaxy Z Fold 5: F946BXXS1CXCH
- Galaxy Z Flip 5: F731BXXS1CXCK
[March 29, 2024]: The One UI 6.1 update for the Galaxy Z Fold 5 is available in Europe. It carries the firmware version F946BXXU1CXCF and requires 3GB of your internet quota to download the update.
[March 28, 2024]: Finally! One UI 6.1 makes its way to the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5, as promised by the brand.
The One UI 6.1 update for the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 is currently available on Verizon carrier in the US. It has a download size of around 3GB. The update should spread to more and more countries in the coming days.
[March 20, 2024]: A Canadian carrier, Fido, has released its OS update schedule, which reveals that the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Flip 5 will get the March 2024 security update on March 28. Sadly, the update won’t include One UI 6.1.
It means that the One UI 6.1 update isn’t coming to the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Flip 5 this month.

[March 6, 2024]: A new One UI 6.1 test build for the US version of Galaxy Z Fold 5 has been spotted on the server. The update should go live for this device as soon as the One UI 6.1 rollout begins.
[February 22, 2024]: BIG NEWS! Samsung has released a timeline for the One UI 6.1 update for Galaxy devices that will also get Galaxy AI features.
The company has confirmed that it will start rolling out the One UI 6.1 update with Galaxy AI to Galaxy S23 series, S23 FE, Fold 5, Flip 5, and Tab S9 series at the end of March 2024.

[February 9, 2024]: While we wait for the One UI 6.1 update, Samsung has released a new security patch for the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5. The latest update is rolling out in the US to both the carrier-locked and unlocked units.
The One UI 6.1 update is expected to roll out next month.
[January 18, 2024]: Samsung has confirmed that only select premium Galaxy devices will get Galaxy AI features with the One UI 6.1 update. The Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 are among them.
