Samsung’s stable One UI 8.5 rollout is expanding quickly. After pushing the update to its 2025 flagships last week, the company has now kicked off the stable release for the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6, starting with beta users in South Korea.
This follows Samsung’s usual playbook. South Korea almost always gets the first taste of major One UI releases before the update gradually makes its way to global markets. For One UI 8.5 eligible devices waiting on this one, a broader international rollout shouldn’t be far off.

One UI 8.5 isn’t a ground-up overhaul, but there’s a meaningful layer of polish here, especially for foldable owners. On the Fold 6, Samsung has refined split-screen transitions, app continuity behavior, and floating window interactions, making the multitasking experience feel noticeably smoother.
Animations across the interface have also been refined. Flip 6 users, on the other hand, get improvements to cover screen interactions and widget responsiveness. The update also brings over a handful of intelligent software features that debuted on the Galaxy S26 series, though some Galaxy AI features won’t make the cut for older hardware.
It’s worth keeping in mind that Samsung’s stable One UI 8.5 rollout is being done in stages, so even if you’re in South Korea, the update might not show up right away. You can manually check by going to Settings > Software update > Download and install.
With the Fold 6 and Flip 6 now in the mix, the Galaxy S24 series is the obvious next in line. We’ll keep you updated as the rollout expands.
