Redmi Note 12 Pro and Note 12 Pro+ Get HyperOS Update

The awaited HyperOS update is now available for Redmi Note 12 Pro and Redmi Note 12 Pro+ users. It brings plenty of improvements to the device and new features as well.

As of writing this post, the HyperOS update for Redmi Note 12 Pro and Note 12 Pro+ is rolling out to global and European variants. Currently, the updates are available only to beta testers. So, if you didn’t sign up to receive beta builds, it’ll take a few days before the stable version reaches your Redmi smartphone.

The global variants of Redmi Note 12 Pro and Redmi Note 12 Pro+ are getting the update with the version HyperOS 1.0.1.0.UMOMIXM, and for the European models, it has the version HyperOS 1.0.1.0.UMOEUXM. The good thing to note here is that the HyperOS builds for both devices are based on Android 14, not an older version, which could be delivered to older Xiaomi and Redmi devices.

The HyperOS major update for Redmi Note 12 Pro and Redmi Note 12 Pro+ requires you to download a bully software package that weighs around 5GB. We recommend downloading the update over a Wi-Fi connection.

The latest HyperOS update brings major under-the-hood upgrades. First things first, HyperOS is a lightweight OS compared to MIUI. So, it’ll consume less storage and offer better performance. With the new OS, Xiaomi aims to seamlessly integrate the software within its devices. So, they can now easily communicate with each other.

There are new animations, a multi-window interface for multitasking, new lock-screen customizations, a redesigned weather app, and more. In addition to HyperOS goodies, the POCO F5 is also getting the January 2024 security patch.

The HyperOS update for Redmi Note 12 Pro and Redmi Note 12 Pro+ is currently available for beta testers. The stable build should be out in a few days. Users in India will also get the HyperOS update soon, as Xiaomi is internally testing the HyperOS build on the Indian variants of the Redmi Note 12 Pro and Redmi Note 12 Pro+.
