Samsung kicked off the stable One UI 8.5 rollout on May 6, and the update is already making its way to flagship Galaxy devices. A broader global expansion is set to begin on May 11.
As expected, Korea is leading the charge. The Galaxy Z Fold 7, Galaxy Z Flip 7, and the Galaxy S25 series were the first to receive the update, with other markets following shortly after. That’s in line with how Samsung typically handles major One UI releases, starting domestically before expanding outward.
Which Galaxy devices are in the first rollout phase?
Samsung hasn’t published a complete list of every device eligible for One UI 8.5 just yet, but the company has confirmed what’s included in the initial wave. Here’s the list of devices receiving the update in the first phase:
- Galaxy S25, S25+, S25 Ultra
- Galaxy S25 Edge
- Galaxy S25 FE
- Galaxy Z Fold 7
- Galaxy Z Flip 7
- Galaxy S24, S24+, S24 Ultra
- Galaxy S24 FE
- Galaxy Z Fold 6
- Galaxy Z Flip 6
- Galaxy Tab S10 series
- Galaxy Tab S11 series
Every device on that list is getting the full One UI 8.5 treatment, which includes the new Galaxy AI features that launched with the Galaxy S26 series. So it’s not a trimmed-down version of the update for older hardware.
It’s worth pointing out that this phase covers flagship and premium mid-range devices from 2024 and later. Budget Galaxy phones and some older mid-range models aren’t part of this initial batch, though Samsung will likely outline the full list of One UI 8.5 eligible devices as the rollout progresses.
The fact that the foldables are getting One UI 8.5 right alongside the S25 series is notable. The Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 were part of the beta program earlier this year, so Samsung clearly had enough time to validate the software on those devices before going stable.
After nearly six months of beta testing on the Galaxy S25 series, the stable release should be in reasonably good shape. We’ll keep you updated as Samsung confirms more devices for the rollout.
