Samsung announces stable One UI 8.5 rollout

Samsung One UI 8.5 rollout official

Samsung has officially announced the One UI 8.5 update rollout, starting in South Korea today, May 6, 2026. Global markets are next, with the wider rollout expected to follow in the coming days.

The first devices in line are the Galaxy S25 series, which includes the S25 Edge and S25 FE alongside the standard lineup. Samsung’s latest foldables are also part of this initial wave, with the Galaxy Z TriFold, Z Fold 7, and Z Flip 7 all picking up the stable build from day one.

A second batch is already confirmed. The Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy S24 FE, Z Fold 6, Z Flip 6, and the Tab S11 and Tab S10 tablet lineups are all queued up. Going by how Samsung has handled previous rollouts, these devices shouldn’t have to wait too long once the Korea push stabilizes.

This isn’t a flashy feature drop. One UI 8.5 is a refinement update, and Samsung has been methodical about getting it right through an extended beta cycle that stretched across several device families. The focus has been on polish, stability, and ironing out the rough edges rather than introducing sweeping changes.

Exact timing for each region will depend on the local market and carrier situation, so some users may see the update a bit later than others. To check if yours is ready, head to Settings > Software update > Download and install.
