Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 get stable One UI 8.5 update

The stable One UI 8.5 rollout is picking up pace. After the Galaxy S25 series got the update, Samsung has now started pushing the stable build to the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 as well.

Both 2025 foldables are receiving the update with firmware version BZDP. As is typically the case, beta users in Korea are first in line, but a broader rollout should follow soon. The update keeps both devices on the April 2026 security patch.

Earlier today, Samsung also wrapped up the One UI 8.5 Beta Program for the Galaxy S25, S25+, S25 Ultra, and S25 FE in Korea. The final stable build has been pushed to beta participants there, and users still on One UI 8.0 shouldn’t have to wait too long either.

One UI 8.5 is built on Android 16 and is less about overhauling the experience and more about making it feel more polished. Expect smoother animations, snappier system responsiveness, and visual refinements throughout the UI. Core areas like multitasking, privacy controls, and camera processing have also been improved, and Samsung’s stock apps have received consistency and performance updates across the board.

On the Fold 7 and Flip 7 specifically, the update puts extra attention on large-screen usability. Things like app continuity, split-screen handling, and general foldable-specific workflows are noticeably better. It’s the kind of update that doesn’t scream for attention but makes daily use feel that bit more fluid.

Samsung still has an active beta program running for several other Galaxy devices, including some mid-range models. The company could begin the stable rollout for those later this month, with the goal of reaching all eligible Galaxy smartphones and tablets by the end of June or early July. After that, attention will shift firmly toward One UI 9, which is expected to debut alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Flip 8 in late July.
