Samsung’s April 2026 security patch rollout is picking up pace, and the Galaxy M16 is now part of it. The update is currently live for users in India, carrying firmware version M166PXXS5CZD2 and weighing in at around 304 MB.
The April 2026 security patch takes care of 47 vulnerabilities in total, spread across both the Android system and One UI. Some of those are classified as critical, while the rest fall under high severity. There are also dedicated patches for Samsung’s semiconductor components included in the build.

If you’re on a Galaxy M16 in India, you should be able to grab the update right now. Head over to Settings > Software update > Download and install, and it should show up. Once the file downloads, tap Install now and let it do its thing. There’ll be a reboot at the end, and after that you’re on the April patch level.
For M16 users outside India, it’s just a matter of time. Samsung typically rolls these security updates out in waves, so keep checking the same menu over the next few days. The Galaxy A34 already got its April update recently, and Samsung has been steadily working through the rest of its lineup. We’ll keep you updated as the rollout expands to more regions.
