Samsung’s One UI 8.5 beta rollout has reached another milestone for the Galaxy S23 FE. The company has pushed the second beta build based on Android 16 QPR2 to the device, with South Korea being the first to receive it. The update carries a firmware version ending in ZZDP and brings five changes to the table.
The update appears to follow the usual pattern of bug fixes and stability improvements that accompany mid-beta releases. If you’re in South Korea and enrolled in the beta program, you should be able to grab the update through Settings > Software update.

It’s worth keeping in mind that the Galaxy S23 FE isn’t the only older device that’s been pulled into the expanded One UI 8.5 beta program. Samsung has been gradually broadening its testing pool beyond the Galaxy S25 series over recent months. If you want to check whether your device is slated to receive One UI 8.5 at all, the full list of eligible Galaxy devices is a good place to start.
Beta 2 landing for the S23 FE suggests Samsung is making steady progress on ironing out the software before a stable release. That said, given that the S25 series went through multiple beta rounds before Samsung felt confident enough to push a stable build, S23 FE owners should probably expect at least a few more updates before One UI 8.5 arrives in its final form on their devices.
For now, if you’re on the beta and in South Korea, it’s worth updating and keeping an eye on what those five changes actually address once a full English translation surfaces.
