Samsung is pushing the stable One UI 8.5 update to non-beta users across more devices now. The Galaxy S25 series, Galaxy Z Fold 7, and Galaxy Z Flip 7 are all picking up the update, wrapping up what’s been a lengthy beta cycle.
Beta participants on these devices were the first to receive the transition builds, along with notifications that the beta program was winding down. For the Galaxy S25 series, the stable firmware carries the CZDP build, while the Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 are landing on a build ending in BZDP. Non-beta users on all three lineups should now be seeing the update come through.

This is a big update package weighing about 4GB in size, and what’s inside feels much closer to a major version bump than a routine mid-cycle patch. Samsung has touched nearly every corner of the software here.
What’s new in One UI 8.5?
The interface gets a noticeable refresh across the board. Animations are smoother, layouts feel more considered, and general navigation is cleaner without feeling unfamiliar. Samsung has also loosened its grip on the Quick Panel, finally letting users rearrange toggles, adjust the layout, and reposition sliders freely. It’s a small change that makes a real difference day to day.
On the AI side, things are more practical and accessible than before. Call screening, live transcription, and tools like Audio Eraser and generative editing are better refined and easier to find. The camera experience benefits from improved AI assistance too, and key in-app elements like search bars have been repositioned for easier one-handed reach.
Performance was clearly the main focus heading into stable. After several beta builds, the priority shifted firmly to stability and fluidity, and it shows in the final release.
Worth mentioning, Samsung is already well into what comes next. One UI 9 development is underway for the next generation of Galaxy hardware. If you’re on another device and wondering whether it’s in line for One UI 8.5, check out the full eligibility list here.
