Samsung updates Expert RAW app to work with One UI 9.0

Expert RAW app

Samsung has pushed out a new update to its Expert RAW app, and the timing is no coincidence. It comes hot on the heels of the first One UI 9.0 beta landing for the Galaxy S26 series, and the update appears aimed at keeping the app running smoothly on Android 17.

The new version, 6.0.00.15, is currently exclusive to devices on One UI 9.0, meaning only the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+, and Galaxy S26 Ultra can grab it right now. It’s a fairly hefty download at close to 900MB, and it’s available through the Galaxy Store on eligible devices.

What’s less clear is what exactly changed under the hood. The app is still showing the older changelog, which references Ocean Mode and Virtual Reflector. Those two features are already part of the Galaxy S26 camera experience, having debuted with the series earlier this year. So whether version 6.0.00.15 brings anything new beyond compatibility fixes with One UI 9.0 remains unknown for now.

The One UI 9.0 beta changelog for the Galaxy S26 series doesn’t mention any new camera-related additions either, which doesn’t help clear things up. It’s possible Samsung is simply laying the groundwork to ensure Expert RAW doesn’t break on the new Android 17 base before any feature announcements follow separately.

If Samsung does have something new planned for Expert RAW alongside One UI 9.0, it hasn’t tipped its hand yet. We’ll keep you updated as more details come through.
