Samsung’s One UI 8.5 rollout is picking up speed. Following the Galaxy Tab Active 5 update earlier today, Samsung has now pushed One UI 8.5 to the Galaxy Tab Active 5 Pro as well, starting in South Korea.
The update carries firmware version X356NKOU7CZE4 and is a fairly hefty download at over 3GB. It brings Android 16 to the rugged tablet, along with an updated UI design language and a batch of new and enhanced features. If you want a full picture of what One UI 8.5 brings to the table, our One UI 8.5 breakdown covers everything in detail.
The Galaxy Tab Active 5 Pro launched in mid-2025 running Android 15 and One UI 7.0. It picked up One UI 8.0 about seven months later, and now One UI 8.5 continues that update cadence. For a rugged enterprise-focused tablet, staying current with Samsung’s software releases is a meaningful advantage in business environments.
For now, the rollout is limited to South Korea. Samsung is expected to expand it to other countries and regions over the coming days, so international users shouldn’t have to wait too long. If you’re curious whether your device made the One UI 8.5 eligible devices list, that’s worth checking out.
If your tablet is in South Korea and ready to update, head to Settings > Software update and tap Download and install. Once the files finish downloading, tap Install now and the tablet will restart to complete the process. Make sure the battery is at least 30% before you start.
We’ll keep you updated as Samsung expands the rollout to more markets.
