The May 2026 security patch is now making its way to the Galaxy S25 lineup. Samsung has started pushing the update to international units, with India and Europe being among the first regions to receive it.
The update weighs in at 544.86MB and carries firmware version S93xBXXS9CZE1, as spotted by Tarun Vats. It addresses 36 security vulnerabilities found in the previous software build. To grab it, head to Settings > Software update > Download and install.

It’s worth mentioning that this month’s rollout took a slightly different route than usual. Samsung typically prioritizes the Galaxy Z and Galaxy S flagships for security updates, but the May 2026 patch went to the Galaxy A series first. The Galaxy S26 series picked it up shortly after, and now the S25 family is getting its turn. Not a dramatic change, but a noticeable one for those who track these rollouts. If you’re curious what exactly this patch covers, Samsung’s May 2026 security update also fixes a zero-click Android exploit that could have been exploited silently without any user interaction.
One thing to keep in mind before installing: Samsung recently pushed the stable One UI 8.5 update to the Galaxy S25 series. If you haven’t installed that yet, you’ll likely need to do so before the security patch shows up. One UI 8.5 brings visual changes and several new features worth checking out if you haven’t already.
Looking further ahead, Samsung is also working on One UI 9.0, built on Android 17. The Galaxy S25 series is expected to receive it, though testing is currently underway on the Galaxy S26. We’ll keep you posted as things progress.
