Infinix Android 15 update: eligible phones, release date, and more

Major upgrades are always exciting, and so is Android 15. It brings many new features, such as partial screen sharing, private space, app pairs, satellite connectivity support, and many more. Google released Android 15 in October 2024, and other brands quickly started pushing it to their phones, except Infinix.

Infinix doesn’t have a good track record with software updates, and it’s not even looking to improve upon this, either. The company hardly releases a list that tells which of its devices will get the latest Android upgrade, leaving users in the dark. However, we dig into the software update policies and the company’s past rollout history to prepare a list of Infinix phones that will likely get the Android 15 update.

As mentioned before, we’ve prepared this unofficial list by analyzing the software update policies and past rollouts. We’ll update it once the official list is out.

Infinix Android 15 release date

Infinix has not announced a release date for Android 15. In fact, the brand hasn’t said anything about it yet, which is surprising given that most smartphone brands are already rolling it out to their devices.

Infinix didn’t participate in the Android 14 beta program last year, and it’s the same story this year as well. Users didn’t get a chance to have an early taste of Android 15. More disappointing than that is its public rollout, which hasn’t begun yet.

Android 14, which Google released in October 2023, started rolling out to Infinix phones in the first quarter of 2024. Android 15 seems to be the same story for Infinix. Expect the phone to get the Android 15 treat in the first quarter, if not within a few weeks. We’ll keep an eye on the update and update you the same on this website.

What’s new in Android 15?

Well, Google hasn’t made significant UI changes to Android 15, so it looks very similar to Android 14. But it’s still exciting because of new features and improvements. There’s a new Private Space to hide important apps under an additional layer of protection that you don’t want others to access.

The latest OS also brings satellite connectivity support. This feature allows users to send texts even when there are no cell towers nearby, though it requires specific hardware. There’s also a new app pairs functionality to create a pair of apps to open them in the split-screen mode.

Android 15 also solves low storage problems through the app archiving feature. It removes the app while keeping the user data around, so you can continue where you left off without losing any data. Android 15 has auto-archive to automatically archive apps when storage is running low.

There’s also a new partial screen recording feature to record or share the screen for a specific app rather than anything showing on the screen. Android 15 also brings improvements to vibrations, Bluetooth connection, battery life, and low-light photography.
