Samsung has kicked off the global rollout of One UI 8.5 for the Galaxy S25 series, with the update going live in India, Germany, Poland, the UK, and the US starting today, May 11.
The firmware version ending in CZDP is what you’re looking for if you want to confirm it’s the right build. The download comes in at 4.4GB for devices still running One UI 8.0, though if you’ve been on the beta program, the OTA should be well under a gigabyte. To grab it, head to Settings > Software update and hit Download and install.

One UI 8.5 brings a fair number of changes worth looking forward to. The Quick Panel has been redesigned, and Samsung apps now feature a floating tab bar for easier one-handed navigation. Quick Share gains AirDrop compatibility, which makes cross-platform file sharing between Galaxy devices and iPhones a lot more practical. Bixby also gets a meaningful upgrade here, with Perplexity integration and improved natural language understanding that should make the assistant feel less robotic in everyday use.
On the AI side, Galaxy AI features like Call Screening and Creative Studio are part of the package. Lock screen customization gets new options as well. Samsung Health, DeX, Clock, and Battery settings have each received various tweaks, though Samsung hasn’t gone into specifics on all of them.
If you’re on the Galaxy S25, S25+, or S25 Ultra, now’s a good time to check for the update. The initial rollout phase typically expands to more regions over the following days, so if it’s not showing up for you yet, it should arrive soon.
