I have created this post to keep you updated with the Android 14 and One UI 6.0 update progress for your Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4.
Android 14 is an exciting upgrade for Samsung Galaxy owners, as it brings cool UI changes and a lot of improvements. For instance, One UI 6.0 brings a redesigned quick settings panel, camera app improvements, and notification improvements to make them look better. Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4, Z Flip 4 Software Update Policy
The Galaxy Z Flip 4 and Z Fold 4 are entitled to receive the Android 14-based One UI 6.0 update, per the company’s promise.
But for how long will Samsung support these devices?
The Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Z Flip 4 will receive 4 generations of OS updates. Since they were released with Android 12, the company should send updates until Android 16.

[January 5, 2024]: Samsung has resumed the One UI 6 rollout in Korea to Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4. The new firmware has a download size of around 3GB.
[January 3, 2024]: Samsung has paused the One UI 6.0 rollout for the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 users in Korea. According to a Samsung community moderator, Samsung has found an issue in the security patch that’s included in the One UI 6 package for these devices.
According to the moderator, the rollout might resume later this week or if there’s a delay, it’ll begin rolling out again from early next week.
[December 22, 2023]: Samsung is expanding the One UI 6 availability for the Galaxy Z Flip 4 and Z Fold 4 to Europe, starting with Germany. It should roll out to other European regions in the coming days.
The latest software update for the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Z Flip 4 has the firmware versions F936BXXU4EWL1 and F721BXXU4EWL1, respectively. As you may have expected, the December 2023 security patch is coming along the One UI 6 goodies.
[December 19, 2023]: Although Samsung delayed the One UI 6.0 release for the Galaxy Z Flip 4 and Z Fold 4, the expansion to other regions is happening at a good pace. The update is already available in the US and Korea and is now making its way to India.

As it’s a major OS update, you’ll have to download a bulky software package of around 3GB. You’ll get all the One UI 6 goodies and the December 2023 security patch.
[December 18, 2023]: The stable One UI 6.0 update for the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Z Flip 4 has reached Korea. Currently, the update is available for the One UI 6.0 beta testers. However, it won’t take more than a few days to roll out to the remaining users.
The One UI 6.0 update for the Galaxy Z Fold 4 comes with the firmware version F936NKSU2EWL1, and Flip 4 users can identify it as F721NKSUZEWL1. Besides the One UI 6.0 goodies, users are getting the December 2023 security patch.
[December 16, 2023]: Verizon is sending the One UI 6.0 update to the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Z Flip 4 users in the US. It brings all the changes from One UI 6.0 and the December 2023 security patch. You can identify the update by the firmware versions:
- Galaxy Z Fold 4: F936USQU3EWL1
- Galaxy Z Flip 4: F721USQU3EWL1
[December 9, 2023]: Finally! The stable Android 14 update has been released for the Galaxy Z Fold 4. Currently, it’s rolling out in the United States for the unlocked models and should expand to more regions in the coming days.
To check for updates, go to Settings > Software updates and tap on Download and install.
[November 22, 2023]: Samsung has released a One UI 6.0 update timeline for Germany via the Samsung Members app. According to it, the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Flip 4 will get the stable Android 14 update with One UI 6.0 in December.
Well, we don’t have an exact date yet, but Samsung should release the update in the early days of the next month.
[November 20, 2023]: The November security patch for the Galaxy Z Fold 4 is expanding to Australia, Asia, Africa, and Europe.
[November 16, 2023]: Samsung is expanding the November 2023 security update for the Galaxy Z Flip 4 users in Africa, Asia, and Europe.
[November 14, 2023]: The community manager for the Samsung Community forum has a release timeline for the One UI 6.0 update. According to it, the Galaxy Z Flip 4 and Z Fold 4 should receive the stable One UI 6.0 update on November 20, 2023.
Please note that the timeline is for the European markets only. However, Samsung is usually quick to expand the update to more regions.
[November 9, 2023]: Samsung is rolling out a new update to the Galaxy Z Flip 4 and Galaxy Z Fold 4 users in the United States. It only brings the November 2023 security patch. Hence, don’t expect new features or performance improvements.
[November 2, 2023]: The Galaxy Z Flip 4 users in India are getting the second One UI 6.0 beta update. The new update comes with the firmware version F721BXXU4ZWJJ and is tagged with the November 2023 security patch.
[October 16, 2023]: Samsung is expanding its One UI 6.0 beta program for the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Z Flip 4 to India. Those who want to get an early taste of Android 14 should open the Samsung Members and tap on the One UI 6.0 beta banner to join the beta program.
[October 13, 2023]: Finally!!! Samsung has now kicked off the One UI 6.0 beta program for the Galaxy Z Flip 4 and Z Fold 4. As of now, it’s available for users in South Korea, but Samsung won’t take long to expand it to more regions.
To join the beta program, go to the Samsung Members app and tap on the One UI Beta Programme banner.
[October 11, 2023]: Samsung has released a new update for the Galaxy Z Flip 4, but it’s not based on Android 14. It brings the October 2023 security patch. Currently, the update is live in the US, with more regions to follow in the coming days.
[September 21, 2023]: An official forum moderator on the Samsung Community has confirmed the arrival of One UI 6.0 beta for the Galaxy Z Flip 4 and Z Flip 4. These devices will be getting the beta update next month.
