All Galaxy devices get at least two major OS updates. Hence, those launched with Android 13 or Android 14 should get the Android 15 update.

Samsung offers an impressive four major OS upgrades to select mid-range and flagship phones and tablets. All eligible Galaxy devices under this promise were launched with Android 11. Hence, they should also get the Android 15 update.

What to Expect in Android 15?

Android 15 is expected to introduce a slew of exciting features and improvements. Here are some of those discovered in early builds of Android 15:

Satellite Connectivity Support

Android users have been desperately waiting to test this feature ever since Apple released it for iPhones. Android 15 seems to be the final wait for them. It may not just be limited to emergency uses, unlike iPhones.

Notification Cooldown

Android 15 will introduce a “Notification Cooldown” to tackle the annoying excessive notification problem. This feature lowers the volume of successive notifications coming from the same app.

Partial Screen Sharing

Android 15 will allow users to share or record a single app rather than the entire screen. Previous Android versions record everything that shows up on the screen, which could also reveal important details.

Sensitive Notifications

The new Sensitive Notification feature in Android 15 will prevent malicious apps from reading your OTPs and codes.

High-Quality Webcam

Android 15 will add a high-quality webcam mode to offer great outputs when using your phone as a webcam for a PC. There’s an “HQ” symbol in the camera preview that offers greater quality by disabling battery optimizations.

Find Powered-Off Devices

Android 15 might include a feature to locate your smartphones even if they are powered off. There’s no official confirmation as such, it’s only a rumor that Pixel 9 could launch with this feature.

Vertical App Drawer

The upcoming One UI 7 is rumored to bring the long-awaited vertical app drawer. This is one of the features I’m eagerly waiting for in my Galaxy.

Which Samsung Galaxy device do you have? And what features do you expect to see in Android 15 or One UI 7?
